SOLVED:Trouble with norwegian letters in heading.

Hi,

I started my membership today and are very happy with the templates.

But when i installed Newsline and started to add my own articles i found som errors..

The text marked with red is a H3 header and the text should be \Sigar Form/Størrelser\

Anyway to fix this ??

Re:Trouble with norwegian letters in headings.

Re:Trouble with norwegian letters in headings.

No its not. :-)

Your template is removing the norwegian letters æøåÆØÅ on some4 headings, this on is H3 header.

Original text: Sigar Form/Størrelser
With your template: Sigar Form/Strrelser

Re:Trouble with norwegian letters in headings.

did you make Norwegian as your primary language ?

Glimmerman 03-28-2008 07:06 AM

Re:Trouble with norwegian letters in headings.

Yes Norwegian is my primary language.

When switching back to the standard Joomla 1.5 template everything is ok.

Template is now testet on 2 different servers with the same problem.

This is also testet with 2 templates from Template Plazza, both worked with both servers.

Some tech info.

Joomla 1.5.2 with norwegian language
Tested on a workstation with english windows xp pro and laptop with norwegian xp home.
Both servers are linux based, both use mysql.

My conclusion is that this problem has to be template created as all the templates from other suppliers work just fine. (btw: downloaded the new elegance template, guess what ?? Same problem)

Hope this can be solved soon as this template is what i want. :P

Re:Trouble with norwegian letters in headings.

I dont understand why are you implying that \other templates\ work and ours dont, here is snapshot same page 2 different club templates , utf-8

Well... first.. all i want is to have this nice template to work. Look at my pictures and you will see what i mean...

First one is newsline, second is elegance and the last one is bulletin plazza.

The modules are installed and published after the problem with the template was discovered.

Im not interested to blame anybody, its hard to test everything on all different platforms and languages. Im only stating what I experience when I install it on my server.

Re:Trouble with norwegian letters in headings.

I dont see what you mean , it is impossible to have titles encoded utf-8 and intro text something else, your look at your text under the titles , it is same on both templates,

unicode does not efect flash and sifr is flash , this is why you had trouble, I will make this a sticky for further references

you had me sweeting :)\ works fine on other templates\ I HATE that word :)

kel_rapunzel 02-18-2011 10:17 AM

I have same problems with Turkish character. How can I disable sIFR?

orion_ 02-18-2011 10:46 AM

What template are you using?

kel_rapunzel 02-18-2011 11:42 AM

I am so sorry for the posting.

I have been trying to solve the problem 2 days but couldn't find any solution, so I have removed the you travel template. If you can help about the problem I may install it again. Everything is ok but Turkish characters (ie. ü, ö, ç, etc.) don't appear in Headings.

orion_ 02-18-2011 12:04 PM

Well that explains it

The youtravel template is using Cufon Fonts and you would have to download the propper version of them to work with your language. ;)

orion_ 02-18-2011 12:05 PM

When and where did you get this template please?

Do you have any transaction ID since you purchased it?

kel_rapunzel 02-18-2011 12:28 PM

I bought it long time ago from bestofjoomla. So I have no any ID number or invoice about it.
