I would like to purchase the sportline template. However Im currently using Wordpress. And Im not to worried about loosing the articles Ive already posted. My main concern is the \Permalink\ structure thats allowed in Wordpress. Its extremely important that I can keep permalinks just for SEO purposes. I havent seen anything listed in the forums about permalinks. Im not sure what theyre called in Joomla. I dont currently use joomla. But if its possible to keep a similar structure to wordpress Id love to switch over just for the Sportline Template.

I dont want my pages to be http://whatever.com/index.php?nonsen...other_nonsense

In the text about the sportline template it says it has SEO functions built in but what exactly are those functions.

My other question is to know whether or not there is a plug-in or module of some sort to do automatic sitemap generating for google? Also very important.

Thanks.

there is 1 answer to your question , sh404 sef , with that component , you can have you links look like you want. We are using it here as well . SEO functions for our templates are mainly for Tags , we made additional tag push code within the logos and push them to be first after body tag. Hover over our logo to see it

so is the sh404 sef, built into the sportline template or is that something ill have to download... also is there an auto sitemap generator so everytime I update the site it will go ahead and create a new sitemap and notify google?

i think joomla 1.5 does it automatically. I went to the demo site and theres a radio button for Search Engine Friendly URLs and another one for mod_rewrite. Thats basically what I was wanting. Are these options still available if I use the sportline template?

yes it does , but you do not have the option to change or edit links to your preference , for example if you curent linke is , sitename.com/download-soft/product.html, j1.5 might display it as
sitename.com/download_soft/product.html , shs404 gives you the option to edit the link itself and redirect to sitename.com/download-soft/product.html, all the options you need ar joomla 1.5 cms default the template just changes the frontpage layout and never touches core files

thanks so much for your help. Ill probably start copying my articles from wordpress today. Should be lots of fun :-( Ill load up joomla and if all goes well purchase the sportline template. No sense in having joomla without the sportline template.

Thanks for your help.
