[SOLVED] Confused? May I use a template for a clients site?

I was going through the process of joining the club at the Silver level when I noticed in the Terms of Service this paragraph:

You may not use Youjoomla Products for your friends or clients unless you own Developer Membership. If this agreement violation is discovered , your membership will be automatically suspended and we will contact your customer without notifying you first and ask to take our products down.

I want to join, but I want to start slowly. I don't want to pay $200 for a developers membership right now, but if I like the club I may choose to do that at a later date. I am just beginning my web design business, and I had hoped to use one of your templates for my first client. However if I must pay $200 to do that, I will find another option.

I have done tons of research on Joomla Clubs, and have decided that YouJoomla is the best for me and I hope that I am misinterpreting the Terms of Service.

Please advise so that I can either proceed with my membership or search for other options

sorry Travis but terms are there for a reason. no member can share products and less than developer membership cannot work with clients. since you done research you know that our current price for developer is one of the lowest and that will change with V3 update which is scheduled this month.

So, just to clarify, I can not purchase a membership and use your template on a site that I am building for someone else. It would still only be used on one site.

If I were hired by that company to be their webmaster would that make a difference? Right now I would be considered a contractor for that company.

Like I said earlier, this is the first site I have done "professionally", but hopefully this will lead to more. However, I can not justify (to myself, or my wife) a $200 expense that may only be for one site when the price I have agreed to for building this site would barely cover that cost.

If things are successful with this first site, and it leads to even one more client, I had planned to upgrade to a developer membership.

Also, if it makes a difference, the hosting account is currently (and may remain) in my name. So technically the site is my site, it is just for someone else's business.

Sounds to me like you are splitting hairs. If they are your client, then you would need to hold a developer license to be legal if you were going to install it on their site. If you are employed by them, or they contract you to do their site, then that entity would need to purchase any necessary license(s), they would be bound by those license agreement(s), including which and how many domains are covered.

I originally joined the Youjoomla club almost a year ago at the Platinum membership level so I could do a few sites for my family. I later worked on several sites for clients but waited on taking them live until I bought a developer membership. It is a worthwhile investment, and you can charge your customers whatever you'd like to cover your expenses.

One thing I can tell you with 100% certainty: There is absolutely NO way you can get a quality template like you'll find here completely created for the price you would pay if you only bought a template and a copyright removal license.

My advice: Get a developer membership and promote your business. Your ROI will be there very quickly.
