Im having problems with several modules. When I click a link, the link opens in the front page instead of on its own page. This was happening on myfp module, until I found the post that provided a solution (the solution had to do with changing the module code to use itemid=1000). I am now having the same problem with the latestnews module, and also with the virtuemart component. The more pressing concern is with the latestnews module, so immediate help with that would be appreciated. Then if you could also provide a \global\ solution that will prevent this from being a problem for other modules and components, that would be great.

I have to explain the itemid process so you guys can use it on your j1.5 it is changed since 1.5

every news item is attached to category and section and main thing is MENU

menu assigns the last part which is item it , if your section or category where the news item belongs to is not published in any menu , joomla 1.5 assigns the default itemid which is always the one where you currently are, so publishing the section in the menu will solve this , does not have to be main menu but you can use for example footer menu

Hi!

I just needed to follow up on this, because I never got a resolution. The articles, themselves are associated with a menu item, but Im talking about the latest news module. The module is on the home page, and automatically generates the url for the most recently added articles. I need to update the code, so that the generated url doesnt use item=1. Could you provide me with some assistance in this, similar to the instructions you gave for the slider module?
